Plenty of Fish in the Sea

Some like them short, some like them tall. Some like them built for speed, others like them built for comfort. Finding that perfect longboard is a lot like finding a compatible lover. If the wrong decision is made the outcome could be detrimental. You could end up broken on the side of the road somewhere you don’t want to be, but when the right one is chosen it is magic. The harmonious interaction between the two creates an everlasting bond unlike any other. Never any need to compromise. However finding the perfect one is a long a grueling process that begins with trial and error. You must test the waters, try new things to figure out what you want or need out of a relationship with your longboard. What you choose to begin with may not be the same thing you want as you mature in your veteran riding days. So never hesitate to test new decks, you may not know what you are missing out on.

Having said that here at Norboards we are excited to receive the much anticipated 2012 line of Landyachtz Longboards. The new line will drop March 1st. Landyachtz reputation of speed and quality has certainly lived on through the release of these new decks. There are new styles as well as classics such as the switchblade and the time machine. Stay tuned and look for these new boards in the next few weeks. So think of us as a longboarding match.com there is something out there for everyone no one.

Landyachtz Longboards

Always Respect Authority.
Shred; this is defined as a strip of some material, that has been torn, ripped or scraped from some larger form. As longboarders we often use this term in relation to the action of shredding pavement. Shredders are often discriminated against for impeding traffic and creating a public nuisance on city streets. This leads to the stereotype that we are all menaces to society, when in reality we are your normal everyday people. Just because an individual enjoys a daily dose of adrenalin does not make them a miscreant. Time after time I am approached for “breaking the law” by authorities who come to find out I am not that bad of a guy. Yet we are still approached and treated like criminals. Hopefully sooner rather than later these folks will understand that the sport of downhill/freeride longboarding is here to stay.

Enough of my rambling, if you are trying to establish yourself in our niche of shredders, head on down to Boards on Nord/Nordboards.com to find the best prices around on products such as Landyachtz, Rayne, Loaded, Bustin and yes even Sector 9. We have an abundance of good quality decks that will turn any grom into a pro. Just use caution when carving up those concrete barrels and always respect authority. : )

Landyachtz Switchblade

Up at the crack of dawn, the smell of roasted coffee beans lingers in the air. A hearty breakfast keeps the belly full for the day to come. Grab your shoes, gear, deck and step into the warm morning sun. A short drive reveals a boarder’s sloped playground. The dew left over from the darkness has created sheen across the asphalt introducing perfect slide conditions. Pace car fueled and friends ready to ride, drop time is near. One last inhale as you stare into the rising sun headed up above the foothills and decline. Its times like these that make me question why I do anything other than skate. These morning sessions wouldn’t be the same without a trusty piece of wood such as the Landyachtz Switchblade.

This deck has been one of my favorite Landyachtz boards for the past couple of seasons and with the 2012’s addition I’m sure I will not be disappointed. The dimensions are as follows: a width of 10”, width of 40.5” with a 31.5” wheel base. This board was constructed to bomb hills, slide and freeride at the top of its class. So if you too want to get the most out of your morning sessions head to NoardBoards.com where there are plenty of switchblades for everyone.
